The Togolese government has stepped up efforts to counter rising cyber threats with the launch of a large-scale training programme aimed at strengthening the digital resilience of the public and private sectors.
Togo’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, through the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy), launched a cybersecurity training for 250 professionals, of whom 200 will graduate with internationally recognized certifications.
The programme is implemented in partnership with the Togo Digital Agency (ATD) and supported by the ProDigiT project of GIZ Togo, co-financed by Germany, Luxembourg, and the European Union. Its goal is to equip participants with the technical skills to anticipate, detect, and respond effectively to digital threats.
Three globally recognized certifications form the backbone of the programme: ISO 27001 Lead Implementer for information security management, ISO 27035 Lead Incident Manager for security incident response, and CompTIA Security+ for network security, threat management, and system protection.
According to officials, these qualifications will enhance the protection of information systems within the Togolese state and across businesses operating in the country.
Beneficiaries of the training are exclusively Togolese nationals, residing in Togo and working in either public or private organizations. Candidates, all with at least a Bac+3 qualification in computer science and prior experience in IT or cybersecurity, were selected through a competitive process designed to ensure inclusivity and merit.
