Telecel Ghana has officially launched its annual SME Month, aimed at supporting and connecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to growth and value-added opportunities.
The event took place on September 3, 2024, and brought together business leaders, partners, media representatives, and the Telecel Senior Management team.
This year’s SME Month, themed “Connecting Businesses: Connecting the Woman in Business,” is open to all SMEs in Ghana and features a comprehensive suite of offers, rewards, business accelerators, networking, and capacity-building initiatives, with a special focus on women entrepreneurs to drive economic growth and innovation.

Key Initiatives Announced
Tawa Bolarin, Director of Enterprise Business and Wholesale at Telecel Ghana, highlighted the various packages designed to elevate SMEs, particularly emphasizing support for women in business. “This year, we have several packages with benefits designed to elevate SMEs, with an emphasis on supporting women in business,” Bolarin stated.
As part of this initiative, Telecel Ghana will introduce several industry-first initiatives, including:
- Red Loyalty for Business: Businesses will earn redeemable points for every transaction made through Telecel business packages.
- Telecel Women in Business Package: A pioneering initiative offering resources specifically crafted to empower and grow women-led businesses.
- Women in Business Webinars: A series of interactive events where women entrepreneurs share their journeys, challenges, and successes. The first webinar, titled “The Empire She Built,” will be hosted by TV personality and entrepreneur Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay).
- Connecting Hustles: A live podcast conversation aimed at young entrepreneurs, focusing on starting businesses, scaling up, and achieving sustainable success.
- Women 100 Networking Event: A premium networking opportunity for 100 influential women entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate, and empower one another.
- Sustainability Initiatives: SMEs will learn how to incorporate sustainability into their operations, regardless of their size, along with an experiential sustainability expedition.
- Cashback on Merchant Fees: Telecel Merchants will enjoy a 50% cashback on merchant fees, allowing them to reinvest in their growth.
- Additional Loyalty and Rewards Initiatives: These include free advertising opportunities in the media, a 50% bill discount for selected customers, phone rewards for new customers, and various giveaways for loyal customers.
