John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the hit TV series YOLO, had it all – fame, fortune, and a thriving career. But little did his fans know that behind the scenes, Drogba was battling a debilitating condition that would change his life forever. Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare and chronic condition, had slowly begun to take its toll on Drogba’s body.
The constant pain, limited mobility, and excruciating neck pain made everyday tasks a struggle, he said in an interview on Hitz FM. Simple actions like bathing and using the washroom became daunting challenges. As the condition worsened, Drogba’s career began to suffer. Medical expenses skyrocketed, and lost income due to reduced productivity and limited job opportunities started to add up. The opportunity costs were also mounting, as Drogba had to turn down roles that required physical demands, leading to missed opportunities and potential losses. Despite the challenges, Drogba remained resilient. He continued to work, albeit at a slower pace, and used his platform to raise awareness about Stiff Person Syndrome.

By sharing his story, Drogba hoped to inspire others and create a support system that would help him navigate the difficulties of his condition and career.
