Yours Truly has his own definition of religion just as everyone else has his or her own definition.
Religion is man’s attempt to reach God; that’s someone’s definition.
Someone else’s definition is that , it is an inherent part of us as humans because as the saying goes ” obiara kyirɛ akoda nyame”.
Rasta is tempted to agree with the latter. We didn’t need to import religion. But here we are. We’ve embraced the foreign ones and discarded the ones we were born into. But it’s okay.
Ibi Ghana we dey!
Whereas our traditional religion relies more on cause and effect, the foreign ones brought us miracles signs and wonders religions, so now here we are. And we’ve become the masters and believers in signs and wonders and miracles.
And we have stretched it so far that it is becoming mind-boggling to Rasta. Let any Christian brother or sister be having a meal of fufu and palm nut soup and a fly comes pass to have a taste, and that fly is sent by some devil and a bad omen.
Let someone have a problem which happens to have a slight resemblance to another having a similar one to their situation and it’s a good sign of good things to come.
So we don’t joke with miracles signs and wonders. Every little thing is a sign or a miracle or a wonder.
The political actors of this Republic of our death, went to the office of the Queen of Jeans and her roundtable of Knights of thumbprinting exercise to determine the their position on the ballot paper. No be so?
The Triumphant Patriotic Elephants got the first position on the ballot paper and that’s a sign of victory. First position!
The Umbrella Commune got the eigth position and it’s a sign of victory to shatter the eight long years of the Triumphant Patriotic Elephants.
Fast forward to the unreasonable happening at the People’s House. When it came to light that some Honables were defecting, then Little Dramani went public that it’s a sign of victory. What kind of talk is this?
Was it a miracle that Don T won the elections at Amrika? Hmmm…. the very people who wished that Harris had won are turning the matter as a sign that since a former President won and an incumbent Vice President lost, it’s a sign that Little Dramani was going to win the Republic’s upcoming thumb printing exercise come December. Eiiii…. hmmm.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!
Even some of the so called religious leaders who do signs and wonders and miracles are confessing that sometimes, God twist their tongues to say the wrong prophecies. Tweeaa…..Has any prophecy in Bible gone unfulfilled? Azaa… trial and error prophets.
But Ibi Ghana we dey
Anyway, what’s this brouhaha about being majority or minority in the Republic’s People’s House?
Which of these Honables were voted into the People’s House to be a leader of any caucus in the House?
You were voted into the House to represent the interest of your constituents first. Simple. If by some miracle you’ve been made a leader of the majority or minority, Kubaya!
But struggling for it as if you were voted by your constituents as such and someone is taking it away you is a pity.
Fighting tooth and nail for it makes Your Truly have a blue.
The Loudspeaker of the House declares some seats after it came out that some Honables have switched carpet. What’so wrong with that?
So whenever he convenes the House to conduct government business, you walk out. Fine, it’s within your right to do so. Then you go blaming your opponent as frustrating government business?
Who went to the Supremos, which is causing all this wahala? You run to the Wiggy Red Robbed Supremos to oppose the Loudspeaker of the Republic’s People’s House and now you’re blaming who for frustrating government business?
Massa go and sit down wherever in the House and do your basic job for your constituency just like the Supremos said that declaring those seats vacant will rob their constituencies of representation.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!
So the hotel we wanted to sell backdoor after all was making profits? Sixteen million as dividends to SSNIT? Hmmm…. matters dey!
Have a good Saturday Morning hangover and a peaceful weekend.
