President John Dramani Mahama embarks on an official visit to France , to participate in the 2026 One Health Summit in Lyon and engage in bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the summit, Mahama is expected to play a leading role in high-level discussions alongside President Macron, addressing reforms to global health systems, coordinated responses to emerging health threats, and international cooperation initiatives.
He will deliver keynote addresses outlining Ghana’s commitments to global health security and sustainable policy frameworks.
Following the summit in Lyon, the President will travel to Paris for a series of diplomatic engagements, including a bilateral meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace on April 8. The discussions will focus on strengthening Ghana–France cooperation in sectors such as health, education, trade, investment, and regional security.
Mahama will also meet with Gérard Larcher at the French Senate to bolster parliamentary and institutional ties between the two nations.
The visit highlights Ghana’s growing influence in global health diplomacy and reinforces its commitment to contributing to international policy and multilateral cooperation. President Mahama is expected to return to Accra following the completion of his engagements in Paris.
