The Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) is actively working to elevate Ghanaian jewelry on the international stage. Nana Akwasi Awuah, Managing Director of PMMC, revealed that the company has invested in advanced 3D printing technology and software to design and produce intricate jewelry for both local and global markets.
PMMC is also collaborating with the Jewellers Association of Ghana to help local jewelers leverage opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). With Ghana being the top gold producer in Africa and ranking sixth globally, the focus is now on value addition to change the current trend of exporting raw gold.

The company has ensured responsible sourcing of materials and is planning to introduce a hallmarking system to certify jewelry made by other local jewelers, enhancing their access to international markets.
Nana Awuah encouraged those who travel abroad to purchase jewelry to consider buying from Ghana instead, highlighting the improvements in local production through the adoption of 3D technology, which is now on par with global standards.
