The 2024 Play with Stephen Charity Golf Tournament, held from August 23 to 25 at the prestigious Achimota Golf Course in Accra, Ghana, was a remarkable blend of sportsmanship and philanthropy.
This year’s tournament brought together over 100 golfers from across the continent, all united by a common cause—to raise funds and awareness for autism.

The tournament was filled with competitive spirit and camaraderie, as participants vied for top honors across various categories. The event culminated in a series of exciting matches, with standout performances from several golfers.
Men’s Category:
- 1st Place: Fola Adenusi (Handicap 21) emerged as the winner in the Men’s Group B, showcasing his impressive skills on the course.
- 2nd Place: Emmanuel Oluoha (Handicap 17)
- 3rd Place: Simran Oberoi (Handicap 18)
In the Men’s Group A, John Ayayee (Handicap 12) took the top spot, with Ayoub Ghandour (Handicap 6) and Frederick Duvour (Handicap 12) securing second and third places, respectively.

Ladies’ Category:
- 1st Place: Ellen Amezado (Handicap 9) dominated the Ladies Group A, adding another win to her name as she also claimed the “Closest to the Pin” prize on Hole 9.
- 2nd Place: Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah (Handicap 12)
- 3rd Place: Mary Prempeh (Handicap 7)
In the Ladies Group B, Charity Vogel (Handicap 18) took home the first prize, with Gloria Wallace and Andriana Ignea, both with a handicap of 26, finishing second and third, respectively.


The Longest Drive on Hole 2 was claimed by Edoado Castagna, while Jan Vogel (Handicap 12) and Helen Appah (Handicap 26) were the overall winners in the Senior Division.
The event also featured the exciting Twilight Golf on the opening night, which combined a 2-hole tournament with a vibrant welcome party, setting the tone for a weekend of fun and philanthropy.

The net proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting autism centers in Africa, including the Autism Awareness, Care & Training Centre in Ghana and the Shades of Life Centre in Nigeria.

Stephen Onaivi, the founder of the tournament, expressed his gratitude to all participants and sponsors, highlighting the event’s mission to “Swing for Autism” and provide much-needed support to families affected by autism across the continent.
