The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) received renewed backing from the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition during a high-level review of the Corporation’s 2025 performance on Thursday, 22 January 2026, with Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor leading the engagement.
Led by Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations and Technical), Mr. Onasis Rosely, the PHDC team presented a detailed account of the Corporation’s achievements over the past year and shared strategic plans aimed at accelerating the development of Ghana’s petroleum and petrochemical hub in Jomoro, Western Region.
The meeting provided a platform for the PHDC to advocate for enhanced support from the Ministry, highlighting the crucial role such assistance would play in positioning the Petroleum Hub as a competitive investment destination.
Addressing the delegation, J Abdulai Jinapor said, “The Petroleum Hub project is a vital catalyst for infrastructure development and will play a key role in ensuring Ghana’s energy security.” He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to prioritising initiatives that attract investment and expedite the realization of the Petroleum Hub project.
During the engagement, discussions centered on strategies to enhance the attractiveness of the Jomoro hub to investors, including policies to streamline operations, improve infrastructure, and foster partnerships with private sector stakeholders.
The PHDC also outlined plans for 2026, focusing on leveraging Ghana’s strategic position to establish the hub as a leading petroleum and petrochemical investment zone in the region.
The meeting reaffirms the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that not only boost energy infrastructure but also stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and enhance Ghana’s position in the global energy market.
With strengthened collaboration between the Ministry and PHDC, the Petroleum Hub project is poised to accelerate progress and attract critical investments, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of Ghana’s industrial and energy development agenda.
