Pacific Clothing is taking bold steps to set itself apart. While many clothing companies are caught up in fashion trends, Pacific Clothing has zeroed in on a niche that offers both stability and growth potential mass-produced workforce wear, specifically Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees across industries.
The founder, Mr. John Atsu Jaoudeh in an interview with The High Street Journal said, ‘We focus on workforce wear. We’re not a fashion brand, and we don’t customize clothing for individuals. Our goal is to provide high-quality PPE for businesses that need to equip their teams efficiently and cost-effectively.’”

Leveraging Technology for Better Output
What truly sets Pacific Clothing apart is its emphasis on innovation and efficiency. With support from the Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF), the company has been able to acquire state-of-the-art equipment designed to streamline its production processes.
These new machines have transformed the way Pacific Clothing operates, enabling automation in areas that once required manual intervention. “With our new system, tasks like cutting fabric and managing precise measurements are fully automated,” the representative shares. “We no longer rely on manual trimming or tedious adjustments. Everything is optimized for efficiency.” This investment has not only reduced the time it takes to produce each unit but has also had a profound impact on the company’s resource management. Energy consumption, a major concern in mass production, has dropped significantly thanks to the energy-efficient machinery the company now uses.
Bringing Printing In-House
One of the major shifts Pacific Clothing has made with this new funding is to bring previously outsourced tasks back in-house. “Almost every order we receive requires some form of printing or embroidery,” the founder notes. “In the past, we had to outsource this part of the process, which could account for up to 20-50% of our costs.”
Now, with embroidery machines and Direct-to-Fabric (DTF) printing systems on site, the company handles every aspect of production internally, saving time and significantly cutting down on expenses. “We can now sew, print, package, and deliver all from our own factory, ensuring tighter quality control and faster turnaround times.”

Efficiency Gains Mean Higher Productivity
The results are impressive. With just half the workforce, Pacific Clothing is now able to produce the same output as before, if not more. “Previously, it took 24 workers to produce 100 units. Now, we’re able to produce 150 units with only 12-14 people,” the founder highlights. This leap in productivity speaks volumes about how effective technology and process optimization can be in the clothing industry.
Pacific Clothing is also positioning itself to take on larger contracts, including government projects, which often demand high output at consistent quality levels. “We’ve gained the capacity to work with major clients like KFC, ZoomLion, and others who need mass production with strict quality standards,” says the
company.

Eyeing New Markets
With its increased efficiency and capacity, Pacific Clothing is looking beyond Ghana’s borders. “While there’s strong domestic demand, we’re also targeting the export market,” the founder shared. This forward-thinking approach will not only allow Pacific Clothing to expand its market but also contribute to its mission of improving local employment through sustained growth.
The founder also revealed plans for future growth stating that, “Our next step is to open a vocational center to train local tailors in the community. Through this initiative, we’ll not only provide job opportunities but also meet the increasing production needs of our business.”
Pacific clothing aims to empower the local workforce by providing skills training, particularly for small tailors, and further align with the company’s mission to support the community while expanding its capacity.
