The National Petroleum Authority has donated GH¢1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund in support of healthcare delivery, particularly for patients battling non-communicable diseases.
The Authority said the support is intended to make treatment more accessible for patients and offer relief to households struggling with the high cost of healthcare.
Chief Executive of the NPA, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, said the contribution was intended to support “health care delivery” and improve assistance for patients, especially those affected by non-communicable diseases.
He stated that the gesture reflects the Authority’s commitment to supporting critical social interventions beyond its core regulatory mandate, particularly in areas that directly affect national productivity and public welfare.

The donation is expected to bolster the work of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund as it expands support for treatment and care across the country, at a time when the burden of chronic illnesses continues to place pressure on households and the health system.
The move also spotlights growing institutional support for health financing initiatives designed to complement public sector efforts and improve outcomes for patients requiring long-term and often costly medical care.
The gesture reinforces the need for closer cooperation between state institutions and social support initiatives to help more patients access treatment.
