Young Mobile Money (MoMo) entrepreneurs in Madina are set to gain easier access to startup and working capital under a new grassroots economic empowerment programme launched by the Madina Job Centre in partnership with Precept Advisory Limited.
The initiative, called INSTABUSINESS, will provide weekly loan support to help vendors expand their operations, improve cash flow, and better serve customers during peak business hours.
Beyond loans, beneficiaries will receive financial literacy training to strengthen money management skills and boost long-term sustainability.
For many vendors, limited capital means turning away customers, missing profit opportunities, and stunting growth.
The programme aims to break that cycle, giving small-scale operators the resources they need to scale up and hire more people.
“This project is a practical step in addressing the financial gaps that limit the growth of small businesses,” said Madina MP Francis-Xavier Sosu, noting that supporting grassroots enterprises directly tackles youth unemployment in the constituency.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Madina Job Centre has run job matching, vocational training, agricultural programmes, and business clinics.
INSTABUSINESS builds on this track record by targeting a fast-growing sector, the digital financial services industry that has relatively low entry costs but high potential for job creation.
MoMo vendor Salamatu Fuseini, based at Ritz Junction, described the initiative as “a game-changer,” explaining that the loans will help her maintain adequate float for customers. “If this loan can help us manage our cash flow better, it will really change our business,” she said.
The programme will launch in August in phases, with selected vendors receiving onboarding and disbursements.
Organisers say it is part of a broader push to increase financial inclusion, stimulate entrepreneurship, and create sustainable jobs in Madina’s informal economy.
