The National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership and members are set to unveil the party’s manifesto today, with a focus on establishing a 24-hour economy.
In anticipation of the event, John Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, has expressed concerns about the state of Ghana’s energy sector, which he believes is in decline. He praised the yet-to-be-read NDC manifesto as offering a roadmap to address problems in the energy sector.
According to Jinapor, oil production under the current government has decreased, and the NDC is committed to reversing this trend. The party aims to increase crude oil production to 400,000 barrels per day if it wins the December 7 elections, with renewable energy playing a significant role in their strategy.

“The energy sector debt keeps ballooning. This manifesto seeks to rescue the energy sector and turn it around. Renewable energy forms a major part of the manifesto, and access to electricity will be a focus,” Jinapor stated.
Additionally, the NDC’s manifesto will prioritize job creation, aiming to resolve challenges created by the current administration, according to the minority chief whip Kwame Agboza.
The manifesto launch will take place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium of the University of Education, Winneba. The event will be attended by the NDC’s Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, who will serve as the Special Guest.
Other attendees will include members of the National Executive Committee, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, Parliamentary Candidates, and various distinguished guests from the Diplomatic Corps, clergy, traditional authorities, civil society organizations, academia, labor organizations, and the creative arts community.
