The National Communications Authority (NCA) has published its updated list of authorised Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Public Data Service Providers in Ghana as of the second quarter of 2025, confirming 78 licensed companies.
According to the regulator, 38 companies under the Internet and Public Data Service category are currently operational, while 35 remain inactive. One Rural ISP licence has been issued but is yet to begin operations, while all four companies licensed under the Internet Hotspot category are active. In total, 42 providers are operational, with 36 listed as inactive.
The companies actively delivering internet services include Dynamic Data Solutions Limited, Ecoband Networks Limited, SP Echo Ghana Limited (Africa Online), Iklick Communications Limited, Opin Technologies Ghana Limited, Tizeti Network Ghana Limited, E-Connecta Limited, Comsys Ghana Limited, MainOne Cable Company Ghana Limited, Teledata ICT Limited, Vodacom Business Ghana Limited, K-Net Limited, and Datacom Telecom Limited.
The NCA noted that ISP authorisations are valid for five years, with providers required to maintain compliance to continue operations. Entities may operate on licensed or unlicensed frequency bands, while hotspot operators are restricted to coverage within three administrative districts unless they apply for full ISP authorisation.
Applications for Internet and Public Data Service licences may also require spectrum allocation, attracting separate fees beyond the regulatory licence charge, the Authority added.
The NCA said it seeks to improve transparency in the telecom sector and provide clarity on companies licensed to offer internet and data services nationwide. The full list, included operational status and contact details.
