Ghana will only entertain foreign digital partnerships that align with its national priorities and deliver measurable domestic value, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George told a visiting U.S. business delegation in Accra.
The delegation, led by Fred Opoku, Chief Executive Officer of Virginia-based Chainbridge Consultant Group, held talks with the Minister on prospective collaboration in the tech sector. Also present was Mr. Mekala Reddy, President of Infodat and Vice Chairman of the Texas-Africa Chamber of Commerce.
Samuel Nartey George said the government is open to partnerships that directly support its strategic pillars in artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity and business process outsourcing (BPO). He urged that all partnerships align with Ghana’s national digital blueprint and advised the group to engage the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) to access the appropriate investment channels and incentives.
He assured the team of his Ministry’s readiness to engage in “mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver measurable impact for Ghanaians.”
The visiting executives expressed interest in supporting youth digital skills programmes and outsourcing initiatives designed to create long-term digital jobs. The discussions form part of Ghana’s wider effort to channel foreign technology capital toward capacity building, job creation and export-oriented digital services rather than standalone pilot projects or detached CSR initiatives.
