Customers of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) are being advised that MTN MoMo services are temporarily unavailable on the bank’s mobile app and USSD platform (*422#), following instability with the MTN network.
In a notice sent to account holders, GCB urged customers to avoid attempting MTN wallet transactions for the time being, warning that services may not process correctly.
The bank advised users to use alternative payment and transfer methods, including card payments, GCB-to-GCB transfers, ATM cash withdrawals, or GHQR payments, until MTN services are fully restored.

“Please do not attempt MTN wallet transactions for now. We will notify you once restored,” the notice said.
The advisory follows multiple reports of service challenges when using MTN MoMo to withdraw or transfer funds in recent days, highlighting the growing reliance on mobile money platforms and the importance of backup payment channels for daily transactions.
Many users say they have been informed by vendors and service points that MTN MoMo is currently unavailable, with transactions either failing, delayed, or left pending.
