MTN Ghana has paid more than GH¢5.29 billion in dividends to its shareholders for the 2025 financial year, reaffirming its strong financial performance and continued dominance in the telecommunications sector.
The company declared a final dividend of GH¢0.40 per share, bringing the total payout to GH¢5,294,470,020.
The payment was recommended by the Board of Directors at a meeting held on February 26, 2026, and later approved by shareholders at the company’s Annual General Meeting on March 24, 2026, at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra.
During the meeting, shareholders adopted an ordinary resolution confirming the payment of the final dividend for the 2025 financial year.
According to the company’s 2025 Annual Report, all shareholders whose names appeared in the books of Scancom PLC at the close of business on Thursday, March 26, 2026, qualified to receive the final dividend.
The company explained that the ex-dividend date was set as Tuesday, March 24, 2026. This means investors who purchased MTNGH shares before that date will be entitled to the final dividend, while those who bought shares on or after the date will not qualify for the payout.
MTN Ghana also assured shareholders that the net dividend will be transferred electronically on Friday, April 10, 2026, either into their bank accounts or mobile money wallets, depending on the payment option selected.
Beyond the dividend announcement, shareholders also approved several board decisions aimed at strengthening the company’s corporate governance structure.
Mrs Antoinette Kwofie, who retired by rotation, was re-elected as an Executive Director of Scancom PLC. Mr Kofi Dadzie was also re-elected as an Independent Non-Executive Director after retiring by rotation, while Mr Felix Addo was similarly re-elected as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the company.
In addition, shareholders approved the payment of GH¢13,715,216 to Non-Executive Directors of Scancom PLC for the year.
The amount is subject to adjustment in the event of additional board appointments or extra board and committee meetings held during the year.
The more than GH¢5 billion dividend payout highlights MTN Ghana’s strong earnings performance in 2025 and reinforces its position as one of the country’s most profitable listed companies, as well as a major contributor to shareholder value and the broader economy.
