The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MoTAI) has launched its 2025/2026 National Service orientation, providing 26 recruits with practical exposure to policy design, trade facilitation, and industrial development frameworks. The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Accra, forms part of MoTAI’s approach of bridging academic learning with real-world economic and policy applications.
Directors and team leads from across the Ministry briefed the new personnel on operational roles, expectations, and standards within key units, while highlighting the Ministry’s expanding focus on trade policy, industrial value-chain expansion, and agribusiness transformation.

Presiding over the ceremony on behalf of the Chief Director, Director for Special Economic Zones Development, Kobena Ebo Quayson, encouraged the recruits to leverage the experience to shape their professional paths while contributing to public service.
“MoTAI is a very important Ministry, and it plays a vital role in the country’s economic progress. There is a lot to learn here within your one-year mandatory service,” Quayson said. “This Ministry is very strategic; it can define your career.”
Quayson assured the cohort that the Ministry will provide a supportive environment offering hands-on engagement in technical and administrative directorates, emphasizing initiative, curiosity, and commitment as key to maximizing the opportunity.
The session concluded with an interactive dialogue, allowing recruits to seek guidance, clarify expectations, and engage directly with senior officials. The orientation marks the start of their contributions to advancing Ghana’s trade competitiveness, industrial growth, and agribusiness development over the coming year.
