President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaian investors to position themselves to capitalise on the economic opportunities expected to emerge from the construction of the new bridge over the Afram River at Ekye Amanfrom.
Speaking during a meeting with members of the Kwahu Business Advocacy Group, the President described the bridge as a transformative infrastructure project that would unlock the economic potential of the Afram Plains and accelerate development across the area.
He said the improved road connectivity would attract investment into agriculture, creating opportunities for large-scale production and value addition in cashew, rice, palm oil, rubber and other agribusiness value chains.
President Mahama also highlighted the area’s tourism potential, noting that the Volta Lake provides opportunities for private investment in marinas, lakeside resorts and other tourism infrastructure.
According to him, the bridge will significantly improve access to the Afram Plains, reduce transport constraints and stimulate economic activity by attracting private sector investment across agriculture, tourism and related industries.
He encouraged Ghanaian entrepreneurs and investors to take advantage of the emerging opportunities, describing the project as a catalyst for long-term economic growth and job creation in the enclave.
