Ghana’s health and wellness calendar is set for a major boost as LYF Festival 2025 launches with two headline events scheduled for August 30, 2025, in the Eastern Region. Organized by LYF Arena, the festival blends physical fitness, nature, and community health in a single, inclusive experience aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles among individuals and organizations.
This year’s festival introduces the maiden edition of the Eastern Marathon, Ghana’s first hill-based running event, alongside the third edition of the LYF Walk, a wellness-focused 8-kilometer group walk. Both events will start at Ayimensah and conclude at the Aburi Botanical Gardens, against the scenic backdrop of the Eastern Ridge.
A Dual Experience: Fitness Meets Nature
The Eastern Marathon features two race categories, 5km and 10km, designed to challenge participants while immersing them in the region’s lush, natural terrain. With a modest participation fee of GH₵50, the race is accessible to both recreational and experienced runners. The marathon will begin at 6:00 AM.
An hour later, the LYF Walk will commence, attracting wellness enthusiasts from all walks of life. Participants will take part in a community-driven 8KM walk followed by a series of wellness activities at the finish point, including:
- Aerobics and yoga sessions
- Free health screenings
- Health and nutrition talks
- A curated wellness market
More Than a Festival
LYF Arena, under its health-first mantra, is positioning the festival as more than just an event, it is part of a national movement to integrate wellness into everyday living. The organization has hosted several impactful health-centered experiences since its founding, with a focus on encouraging active lifestyles, corporate wellness, and nature-based therapy.
“Our goal is simple,” the organizers said in a statement. “We believe “Good health is true wealth.” Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles through engaging, community-driven events. This festival aims to advocate for wellness among individuals, corporate bodies, and the general publi.”
Health Advocacy and Community Impact
The 2025 edition of the festival also aims to foster greater corporate participation, with opportunities for organizations to sponsor, register employee teams, or host activations at the event’s wellness market.
By choosing the Eastern Region as its base, the LYF Festival will also be highlighting tourism, environmental wellness, and community engagement, offering participants not only a health-focused experience but also exposure to Ghana’s rich natural heritage.
