The supply of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is expected to stabilize today following the resolution of issues that caused shortages in parts of the country. Long queues had formed at several LPG stations as some outlets ran out of stock, forcing consumers to seek out locations with available supply.
Gabby Kumi, Vice President of the LPG Marketers Association, told The High Street Journal that a ship carrying 11,000 metric tons of LPG arrived last week and discharged its cargo into five depots. However, the delay in distribution was due to the need for a reconciliation process to ensure all quantities were accounted for before the product could be loaded and distributed.

“The main cause of the delay has been the reconciliation process, which has kept everyone on hold,” Mr. Kumi explained. He added that the process is nearly complete, and gas supplies should be released soon, potentially resolving the shortages by the end of today.
Mr. Kumi is optimistic that once the product is released, the supply chain will normalize, and consumers will no longer face difficulties in accessing LPG.
