The Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI) has announced the winners of its eBook Reader App Review Competition, concluding a global initiative aimed at strengthening its digital knowledge platform through user-driven feedback.
The competition invited users of the IsDBI eBook Reader across iOS, Android, and cloud-based web versions to evaluate the platform’s ease of use, navigation, speed, reading tools, and overall library experience. Participants were asked to provide detailed and constructive insights to support ongoing upgrades to the Institute’s digital ecosystem.
After reviewing submissions, IsDBI awarded the top prize of US$1,500 and a certificate to Hazwani Bt Mohd Mohadis. Hassan Ali Abbasi secured the second prize of US$1,000, while Mohammed Musa and Is’haq Said Muhammad were named joint third-prize winners, each receiving US$700 and certificates.
According to the Institute, entries were assessed based on depth of insight, creativity, relevance to the Reader’s purpose, and accuracy of analysis. Officials noted that several of the recommendations will directly shape upcoming enhancements to the app and the Institute’s online bookstore.
Acting Director General of IsDBI, Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, said the initiative reflects the Institute’s commitment to user-centered innovation.
“The valuable insights offered by participants will directly contribute to improving user experience and strengthening the Reader’s role as a global knowledge platform,” he said, adding that the Institute appreciates the thoughtful engagement of contributors committed to advancing Islamic economics and finance knowledge.
The IsDBI eBook Reader provides access to more than 500 publications covering Islamic economics, finance, and development studies. Available as a mobile application and cloud-based platform, it forms a central component of the Institute’s broader mission to expand access to high-quality knowledge resources across its member countries and Muslim communities worldwide.
IsDBI serves as the knowledge arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group, focusing on research, human capital development, and the advancement of Islamic finance ecosystems to support sustainable economic growth.
The winners will be contacted directly in the coming days to receive their awards.
