The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has launched the 2025 National Heritage Photo Competition to empower young Ghanaian creatives through photography while celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, sector minister Mrs. Abla Dzifa Gomashie said the competition targeted youth aged 25 and below across all 16 regions, offering them a platform to sharpen their artistic skills and showcase their work nationally and internationally.
She said this initiative is more than capturing beautiful images, it is about equipping young people with creative skills and fostering pride in Ghana’s heritage.
She encouraged participants to submit photographs of heritage sites, traditional clothing, local cuisine, and other cultural elements to be selected.
The competition is a collaboration between the Ministry, UNESCO, the Ghana Tourism Authority, National Folklore Board, National Commission for Culture, and the Bureau of Ghana Languages.
Nonetheless, citizens hoped that the initiative will not only highlight Ghana’s cultural diversity but also inspire a new generation of creative professionals.
