Deputy Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Sampson Ahi will deliver President John Dramani Mahama’s keynote address at the Africa Business Investment Summit 2026 on Thursday, representing Sector Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.
The two-day summit, organized by the Millennium Excellence Foundation under the patronage of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, brings together policymakers, investors and business executives to discuss opportunities across trade, finance, energy, agriculture, tourism, mining and real estate.
Ahi is expected to highlight Ghana’s investment opportunities and the broader economic potential of Africa, according to a statement from the ministry. The government is seeking to use the gathering to deepen partnerships with international investors and attract capital into sectors that can support economic growth and job creation.
Ghana’s pitch comes as African economies compete for foreign direct investment amid efforts to expand local production, strengthen regional trade and develop value chains around the continent’s natural resources and consumer markets.
The summit will also focus on Africa’s innovation and entrepreneurial capacity, while promoting investment partnerships intended to accelerate economic transformation.
For Ghana, the event provides an opportunity to reinforce its position as an investment hub and demonstrate the government’s commitment to creating a business environment capable of attracting strategic investors.
The government plans to use the summit to highlight opportunities not only in traditional sectors such as mining and agriculture, but also across finance, energy, tourism and real estate.
The meeting is expected to provide a platform for direct engagement between African policymakers and global investors as governments seek financing for infrastructure, industrial development and private-sector expansion.
Ahi’s presentation on Mahama’s behalf is part of Ghana’s broader push to increase foreign investment and strengthen economic partnerships beyond its domestic market.
The summit is being held under the distinguished patronage of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, with the Millennium Excellence Foundation organizing the event and the Asantehene serving as Life Patron.
The government expects the discussions to translate into new commercial partnerships and investment opportunities across Ghana and the wider African market.
