The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) continued its positive trajectory in Monday’s trading session (June 23, 2025), with both the broader market and financial sector indices posting notable gains.
The benchmark GSE Composite Index closed at 6,250.15 points, up 39.87 points from the previous session’s 6,210.28, representing a 27.85% year-to-date gain. The GSE Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI) also advanced, rising to 3,347.77 points after gaining 24.33 points, pushing its year-to-date growth to 40.62%.
Trading activity was buoyant, with a total of 2,622,541 shares exchanged, generating a turnover of approximately GH¢8.04 million. The day’s market capitalization settled at GH¢137.35 billion, reflecting sustained investor interest as the market moves deeper into the year.

SIC Insurance Company PLC continued its steady upward trend, posting a modest gain of GH¢0.02 to close at GH¢1.14. A total of 11,861 SIC shares changed hands, amounting to a trade value of GH¢13,519. In the oil marketing space, TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC delivered one of the session’s strongest gains, climbing GH¢2.50 to close at GH¢27.50. The NewGold Exchange Traded Fund (GLD) also contributed to the market’s gains, advancing by GH¢3.17 to close at GH¢362.05. A total of 212 units of the ETF were traded, generating GH¢76,755 in value.
