Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has announced a substantial investment aimed at advancing Ghana’s digital economy and boosting local economic participation. Speaking in Parliament, Dr. Amin Adam revealed that since January 2024, the government has allocated approximately GH₵135 million to the National Identification Programme. This investment forms a crucial part of the government’s comprehensive strategy to enhance economic efficiency and engagement nationwide.
Dr. Amin Adam, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Karaga, underscored the government’s dedication to digitalisation as a key driver for economic revitalisation, benefiting all Ghanaians. He assured that the government remains committed to sustaining the progress achieved in economic recovery and development.
“The investment of GH₵135 million in the National Identification Programme underscores our dedication to advancing our digitalisation efforts and expanding our unique identification system,” he stated. “This progress is bolstered by meaningful engagements with stakeholders, which have improved cooperation and understanding.”
Additionally, Dr. Amin Adam highlighted the government’s ongoing focus on fiscal consolidation, prudent expenditure management, and enhanced revenue mobilisation to ensure continued economic stability and growth.
