Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has cautioned the public against engaging in any land transactions involving a disputed 16-acre property on the Spintex Road, stating that the land remains under litigation despite ongoing attempts to offer it for sale.
In a public notice issued by management, GACL said the lands, located “adjacent to and opposite Action Chapel International,” were allegedly being marketed by Airport Logistics Limited and McDan Shipping Company Limited, both subsidiaries of the McDan Group of Companies.
The company stressed that the disputed property is “a subject of litigation” currently before the courts and warned that no entity has the authority to sell, lease, or transfer interests in the land while the judicial process remains ongoing.
According to GACL, the High Court (Land Division) in Accra delivered judgment in its favour on May 6, 2025, granting the company the right “to re-enter and to take possession” of the land.
Although the McDan Group has filed an appeal against the ruling, GACL noted that the matter is still pending before the Court of Appeal and therefore remains sub judice.
The state-owned airport operator consequently advised prospective buyers, developers, and investors to “desist from engaging” in negotiations, payments, or any commercial dealings connected to the property.
GACL further warned that any individual or organisation entering into transactions involving the land would be doing so “at their own risk,” adding that it would not recognise any third-party interests created during the pendency of the case.
The company also indicated that it reserves the right to take “full legal action” to safeguard its assets and enforce its ownership rights over the disputed parcels.
The warning follows increasing concerns over disputed land sales and competing ownership claims in parts of Accra, particularly within high-value commercial areas along the Spintex corridor.
