Several shops in Kasoa were destroyed by a fire on Monday evening at Ghana Flag Junction. The blaze, which began around 5:30 p.m., quickly spread to multiple structures, including carpentry shops and drinking spots along the Kasoa-Obom road.
Residents promptly alerted the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), who are currently working tirelessly to extinguish the fire. Despite the extensive damage, no casualties have been reported, though property worth tens of thousands of cedis has been lost.
Residents, speaking to Myjoyonline’s David Andoh, expressed concern about the proximity of power lines and nearby filling stations, fearing the situation could worsen. However, GNFS officials have made significant progress in controlling the flames.
This is the second fire incident in just two days. Yesterday fire destroyed shops and wares at Zongo Lane in Accra.
