Drive to Inspire Africa, a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering teenage children and young adults, particularly girls, hosted its yearly report dubbed: Empowering Futures 2024: Impact Report & Annual Fundraiser event in Accra on February 23, 2025.
The gathering brought together sponsors, volunteers, board members, staff, partners, and advisory council members to reflect on the organization’s achievements, celebrate its impact, and chart a course for the future.
The event was a celebration of Drive to Inspire Africa’s mission to inspire, mentor, and equip young people with the tools to reach their full potential. Through scholarships, outreach programs, mentorship initiatives, and financial support, the organization has started a good initiative to transform lives and communities across Africa.

Giving a keynote address, Founder and Chairperson of Drive to Inspire Africa, Nana Adjoa Hackman, said the organization has made strides in its mentorship program. Following the initial pilot of 10 mentees matched to 10 mentors, they successfully rolled out one-on-one mentorship to 27 mentees in Quarter 3 of 2024.
“When we met last year, we were running a pilot of our mentorship program using 10 mentees who were matched with 10 mentors. I am happy to report that we run in Q3 2024, our first full one-on-one mentorship program with girls aged 18 to 25 with 27 mentees and mentors,” Hackman said.
Hackman further announced that the organization has received applications from 174 mentees and 174 mentors from eight African countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Liberia, and Zimbabwe. The 2025 mentorship program will commence on March 1, 2025, incorporating a hybrid format with one-on-one mentorship and online seminars.

Hackman emphasized the challenges faced by the organization, particularly in reaching entire schools due to limited resources. However, she stressed the importance of lending a helping hand to students in need, citing the resilience and determination of students despite their circumstances.
The event also featured a report from KPMG, Drive to Inspire Africa’s Accountability Partner, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to transparency and impact. Outstanding volunteers were recognized for their contributions to the organization.
Drive to Inspire Africa’s focus is on children and young adults between the ages of 13 and 25, providing resources to bridge the gap between privileged and less privileged children. Also, there was a documented testimonial, where beneficiaries shared their inspiring stories of transformation.
