Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will launch a new digital healthcare innovation known as the “E-Health” platform. This initiative, set to be launched on Wednesday, October 16 is part of the government’s broader efforts to modernize the healthcare system through technology.
Developed by Lightwave E-Health Solutions in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the E-Health platform will digitize patient records, allowing healthcare professionals across hospitals to access critical medical data and patient histories in real-time. This will enhance the quality of care, reduce medical errors, and streamline administrative processes in healthcare facilities.
One of the standout features of the platform is telemedicine services, which will allow patients, especially in rural areas, to consult doctors remotely, reducing the need for travel. Patients will also be able to use their mobile devices to book appointments, access test results, and receive prescription reminders, making healthcare more accessible and convenient.

Additionally, the E-Health platform will enable seamless information sharing between public and private hospitals, creating a centralized health database for better coordination and collaboration across the healthcare sector. The initiative also focuses on reducing operational inefficiencies by implementing hospital management systems to improve billing, appointment scheduling, and staff management.
The E-Health platform is expected to revolutionize healthcare in Ghana by reducing wait times, improving access to medical services, and lowering healthcare costs. The government also plans to use the data collected for better public health monitoring, tracking disease outbreaks, and improving health policies through data-driven decision-making.
This launch is expected to mark another step in Ghana’s journey toward a fully digital healthcare system, aiming to improve health outcomes and increase efficiency in healthcare delivery.
