The Executive Secretary and Ambassador-at-Large to President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Nana Bediatuo Asante is reported to be recovering from an illness after rumours spread on Tuesday about his health, the presidency has said.
“Following the conclusion of the meeting of the 79th United General Assembly in New York, in the United States of America, where he served as a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation, Nana Bediatuo Asante stayed behind to conduct further government business. He then began to feel unwell and was subsequently admitted to hospital,” the presidency said in its statement.
The statement further stated that medical teams have confirmed his recovery is on track and “we remain hopeful for his swift return to full strength.”
