ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms (ARISE IIP), a pan-African developer and operator of industrial ecosystems, has successfully completed a landmark USD 700 million capital raise, marking one of the largest private infrastructure fundraising exercises on the continent.
The transaction, which includes both primary and secondary components, brings Saudi Arabian infrastructure investor Vision Invest into ARISE IIP’s shareholder base alongside founding shareholders Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), Equitane, and the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), the development impact arm of Afreximbank.
Boost for Sustainable Industrial Growth
The capital injection will fuel ARISE IIP’s ongoing expansion across more than 14 African countries, where it has already deployed nearly USD 2 billion in infrastructure and enabled over 50,000 jobs. The platform focuses on transforming raw materials locally, advancing import substitution, and building sustainable, green industrial zones.
“ARISE has always believed in Africa’s promise and the talent driving its growth,” said Gagan Gupta, Founder and CEO of ARISE IIP. “The partnership with Vision Invest and the continued support of our institutional shareholders will help us build resilient, self-sustaining industrial ecosystems that deliver long-term value.”
Strategic Alignment with Africa’s Development Goals
AFC President and ARISE IIP Chairman Samaila Zubairu highlighted the importance of the deal in aligning global capital with Africa’s ambitions.
“ARISE IIP has demonstrated what is possible when global capital aligns with Africa’s ambitions. We are proud to deepen our partnership as ARISE scales industrial transformation across the continent,” he said.
Afreximbank President Benedict Oramah congratulated ARISE on the milestone, noting that the new capital would strengthen its role in promoting export manufacturing and industrialisation. Marlene Ngoyi, CEO of FEDA, described ARISE as a model platform for sustainable growth and regional integration.
Vision Invest’s First Direct Foray into Africa
For Vision Invest, the partnership marks its first direct investment in Africa. Chairman Mohammad A. Abunayyan said the deal aligns with the company’s impact investment philosophy, which focuses on socio-economic development in host communities.
“ARISE IIP represents the ideal platform for Vision Invest’s entry into Africa, combining world-class execution, an institutional shareholder base, and an operating model that focuses on in-country beneficiation,” added Omar N. Al-Midani, President and CEO of Vision Invest.
Advisors and Industry Confidence
Standard Chartered Bank and Norton Rose Fulbright acted as exclusive advisors to ARISE IIP, while EFG Hermes and Linklaters advised Vision Invest on the transaction.
The landmark deal, industry watchers say, underscores continued investor confidence in Africa’s industrialisation agenda and positions ARISE IIP as a key player in shaping the continent’s green and inclusive growth trajectory.
