Amazon South Africa has been confirmed as a Diamond Partner for Converge Africa 2026, strengthening its push to accelerate digital commerce adoption and seller development across the country.
The announcement was made ahead of Converge Africa 2026, scheduled to take place from 4–6 May 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The event is expected to convene commerce leaders, online sellers, fintech operators, fulfilment providers and technology stakeholders from across South Africa and the wider continent.
Organisers describe Converge Africa as South Africa’s leading digital commerce and retail technology conference, with a multi-track agenda covering eCommerce, payments, digital marketing, cybersecurity, fulfilment, and customer experience.
As part of its Diamond Partnership, Amazon.co.za will host a series of seller masterclasses, workshops and platform demonstrations aimed at both established merchants and businesses exploring marketplace selling for the first time. The sessions are designed to guide entrepreneurs through onboarding processes, compliance requirements, product listing optimisation, fulfilment options, advertising tools and analytics capabilities.
Suzelle Abe, Head of Marketplace at Amazon South Africa, said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on practical seller empowerment.
“Our Diamond Partnership with Converge Africa reflects Amazon South Africa’s commitment to empowering small businesses through practical execution, seller capability building, and collaboration,” Abe said. “By empowering local entrepreneurs to reach customers nationwide through our marketplace, we’re contributing to small business growth, innovation, and job creation across South Africa.”
She added that investing in seller education and operational readiness is central to lowering barriers to entry and enabling sustainable marketplace growth.
Marketplace success, organisers noted, depends not only on customer access but also on payments infrastructure, fulfilment networks, last-mile delivery systems, advertising technology and data-driven customer insights. These areas form key pillars of the conference programme and align closely with Amazon’s broader marketplace strategy.
The event is organised by the VUKA Group and is expected to draw participants from across the digital commerce ecosystem.
