The Amantin/Kasei Community Bank PLC has earmarked GH¢21.19 million to finance agribusinesses across the agriculture value chain in the Bono East Region in 2026.
The initiative is expected to support about 1,000 agribusinesses with access to credit to expand their operations and contribute to local economic development.
Mr Michael Wilberforce Osae, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank, disclosed this in an interview on the sidelines of the bank’s 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Amantin, the bank’s headquarters.
He said the financing programme formed part of the bank’s commitment to supporting businesses and strengthening economic activities within its operational area.
Mr Osae said the bank would continue to focus on initiatives that promoted local economic growth while improving its own financial performance.
He said the bank had set a profit target of GH¢16 million for 2026.
The CEO urged beneficiaries of the bank’s loans to ensure timely repayment to enable other businesses to access credit and expand their economic activities.
He said responsible loan repayment was essential to sustaining the bank’s ability to provide financial support to businesses and households in the community.
Regional Minister Commends Bank
Mr Francis Owusu Antwi, Bono East Regional Minister, commended the bank for its initiatives to promote financial inclusion and support economic activities in the region.
Addressing shareholders and customers at the AGM, he praised the Board of Directors, management and staff for what he described as their outstanding performance in 2025.
He encouraged the bank to sustain the momentum and pursue greater achievements in the coming years.
Mr Antwi also urged shareholders and customers to remain loyal to the bank and continue to transact business with it.
He further called on shareholders and customers to help the bank meet the Bank of Ghana’s minimum capital requirement of GH¢5 million by December 31, 2026.
The Minister also appealed to customers to repay their loans on time, saying timely repayment would strengthen the bank’s financial position and enable it to continue providing credit to individuals and businesses.
He pledged his support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the growth and sustainability of community banks in the region to accelerate the socio-economic development of the Bono East Region.
AGM Approves 2025 Financial Statements
The AGM considered reports from the Board of Directors and Auditors and received and approved the bank’s 2025 financial statements.
The meeting also declared dividends and authorised the directors to determine the remuneration of the auditors and directors.
The bank’s renewed focus on agribusiness financing is expected to provide additional capital for businesses operating across the agriculture value chain while supporting job creation and economic activity in the region.
