ACTIVA International Insurance Company Ltd., part of the ACTIVA Group, has become the first general insurance company in Ghana to earn the ISO 27001:2022 certification for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
This certification is a globally recognized standard that sets requirements for managing information security, ensuring that organizations protect data effectively.
Managing Director Benjamin Yamoah highlighted that this achievement shows ACTIVA’s dedication to protecting customer information. He stated, “Our goal is to serve our customers by providing the best insurance solutions that align with international standards.”
This certification enhances the company’s credibility and sets it apart as a trusted partner in today’s cybersecurity-focused business environment.
ISO 27001:2022 focuses on protecting three key aspects of information: confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
By meeting these standards, ACTIVA Insurance ensures that sensitive data is secure, which is crucial in the digital age where cyber threats are common.
Established in Ghana in 2005 as Global Alliance Insurance, the company was fully acquired by ACTIVA Assurances in 2009, rebranding as ACTIVA International Insurance Company (Ghana) Limited.
ACTIVA is a member of the Globus Network, the largest insurance network in Africa, operating in 37 countries. The company specializes in short-term insurance, underwriting large corporate risks, and offering niche insurance products.
ACTIVA has been recognized for its excellence, being adjudged the Best Insurance Company in Ghana by the Association of Ghana Industries in 2014, and is a member of Ghana Club 100. With a focus on client orientation, employee intelligence, and efficient use of technology, ACTIVA aims to be among the top performers in Africa’s insurance industry.
