The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has pinpointed the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the marketing industry. The Institute reiterated the call at its 2024 Annual National Marketing Performance Awards.
The theme for the 2024 awards thus “Harnessing the Power of AI as a Transformative Tool for Marketers,” reflects the institute’s recognition of AI’s potential to revolutionize marketing practices.
According to CIMG, a PWC 2017 report estimates that AI could contribute up to USD 15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, with marketing poised to be a significant beneficiary of this growth.
Another 2017 study by McKinsey indicates that organizations that have adopted AI in marketing have seen a 15% increase in customer satisfaction and a 20% reduction in marketing costs. Hence the Institute is certain that this could be a game changer in the phase of the marketing sector in the economy at large.
CIMG emphasizes that AI can significantly enhance marketing by providing tools for better data analysis, customer insights, and predictive analytics. This allows marketers to develop more targeted and efficient strategies, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates. The institute encourages marketers to embrace AI-driven innovations to stay competitive.
AI can automate routine tasks, enabling marketers to focus on creativity and strategy, which are crucial for brand differentiation and customer loyalty.

Addressing members of the CIMG, awardees and industry stakeholders at the 35th CIMG annual National Marketing Performance Awards at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the National President of CIMG, Dr. Kasser Tee stated that AI is set to play a crucial role in predictive analytics, enabling Marketers to forecast trends, customer needs, and market shifts with greater precision.
“As marketers, and with all the business leaders here, let us agree that we have this all-important transformation facing us. The integration of AI into our profession is not merely a trend; it is a significant paradigm shift that demands our active engagement and strategic foresight. AI empowers us to better understand our customers, personalise their experiences, and anticipate their needs with unprecedented speed and accuracy. This transformative tool is enabling us to achieve higher efficiency, greater creativity, and more insightful decision-making processes”. He emphasised.
“Looking ahead, the integration of AI into marketing has just begun. We are already witnessing the rise of AI-driven content creation, where algorithms can generate product descriptions, social media posts, and even video content” He added.
While AI offers vast opportunities, CIMG also acknowledges the challenges, such as data privacy concerns and the need for marketers to acquire new skills to effectively utilize AI technologies.
CIMG advocates for continuous learning and adaptation, urging marketing professionals to integrate AI into their strategies to drive business growth and meet evolving consumer demands. This perspective from CIMG highlights the critical role AI is expected to play in shaping the future of marketing in Ghana, pushing the industry towards more data-driven, efficient, and innovative practices.
