The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has announced the 2025 edition of its flagship Horticulture Expo, scheduled to take place from June 11 to 13, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), which seeks to connect Ghanaian exporters with international markets and foster strategic partnerships to scale up horticultural businesses.
The three-day expo will serve as a platform for exhibitors to showcase their products, engage in business-to-business (B2B) meetings, participate in industry-focused seminars, and explore new export opportunities.
Speaking at the media launch in Accra, GEPA CEO Mr. Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur highlighted the event’s alignment with Ghana’s National Export Development Strategy, emphasizing the need for Ghanaian products to be innovative and value-added in order to remain competitive on the global stage.
“This expo is not just an event; it is a critical step in driving export-led growth. We must focus on transforming our raw produce into high-quality, export-ready goods,” Mr. Arthur said.
However, the second edition of the Horticulture Expo is expected to attract over 400 exhibitors and more than 5,000 participants from Ghana and abroad, including key players in the agriculture and export sectors. Featured commodities will include coconut products, mangoes, pineapples, sweet potatoes, onions, and chili peppers.
Mr. Arthur noted that the event comes at a time when government is advancing its Accelerated Export Development Programme (AEDP), which aims to position Ghanaian exporters for global competitiveness.
He cited Ghana’s participation in the 2025 Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin as an example of progress, where Ghana secured export deals worth approximately $255 million.
Also speaking at the launch, Mr. Davis Narh Korboe, President of the Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE), reiterated the association’s commitment to increasing non-traditional exports. “Our target is to exceed five billion dollars in non-traditional exports within the next two years,” he said.
The expo is expected to serve as a catalyst for growth in Ghana’s horticultural sector and help drive economic diversification through sustainable export practices.
