The 2025 Asogli Teza Festival in Ho took on a national tone as Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang announced that the government will deploy more than 5,000 graduates in agriculture and veterinary sciences to work directly with farmers across Ghana.
In her address, the Vice President said the initiative is part of efforts to modernize the agriculture sector by improving access to technical expertise and innovation at the community level. The graduates will provide modern extension services, promote best practices, and help bridge the gap between research institutions and farmers.

She added that government remains committed to expanding mechanization, irrigation, and storage infrastructure to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance productivity, particularly in rural farming communities.
The festival, hosted by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, drew a large gathering of dignitaries, traditional leaders, and residents, celebrating unity, culture, and enterprise under the theme of community development.
Volta Regional Minister James Gunu commended Togbe Afede and the Asogli State for elevating the Teza celebration to new heights, describing it as a model for how traditional festivals can serve as platforms for economic growth and social cohesion.

“At the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, we remain committed to working hand in hand with our Traditional Councils to transform our festivals into engines of economic growth, tourism promotion, and community development,” Gunu said, citing that culture must continue to be both a source of pride and a foundation for prosperity.
